Riverglen Farm
Chickens

Every year, we raise approximately 75 White Rock chickens.  Starting at the end of May, we raise these meat birds from the time they are one day old.  Until approximately 3-4 weeks of age, they are raised in our barn on a mixed diet of whole grains and freshly harvested grass.  Once ready to go outdoors, they are put out in our chicken pasture where there can forage for grass, weeds and a variety of bugs and grubs.  Chicken Heaven!

Our chickens are free ranged until they reach market weight at approximately 12 weeks of age in late August / early September.  Due to being pasture (grass) fed rather than exclusively grain fed, our meat is high in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which has been known to have anti-carcenogenic properties.

Once you taste one of our farm-raised, government inspected chickens, you'll never want to go back to "grocery store" birds again.

We are sold out for 2009!  Thanks again to all of our customers!
**Orders for 2010 will be accepted from Jan 1- March 31, 2010.**
